**Hono 4.13.14** {hono} (2026-10-25). `serveStatic` now calls `next()` for anything other than GET and HEAD. Before this, `app.use('/*', serveStatic())` answered a POST to an existing file with the file and a 200, so `methodNotAllowed` never got to send its 405 ([issue #5223](https://github.com/honojs/hono/issues/5223), open since 12 August against 4.13.1). If a client of yours posts to a path that is also a static file, that request now reaches your own routes or the 404 handler. A second serve-static fix makes precompressed files respect q-values in `Accept-Encoding`, so `br;q=0` no longer gets Brotli. 17 changes in all, 21 days after 4.13.13.
