# Cargo release history and the cycle notes since 2024

Every cargo crate release since February 2024 against the Rust release it shipped with, which six-week cycles got a This Development Cycle in Cargo post, and what happened to the Cargo stories dev-news covered back then.

## Where it stands (2026-10-24)

Cargo 0.100.0 went up on crates.io on 1 October 2026 with Rust 1.99. The crate number runs one ahead of the Rust minor it ships in, and since February 2024 every one has landed within four days of its Rust release.

The cargo team's This Development Cycle in Cargo posts covered 15 of the 24 cycles from 1.76 to 1.99. The last one is for 1.94 and went up on 18 February 2026. Cycles 1.95 to 1.99 shipped without one, so the crate is at three digits and the running commentary on it has gone quiet.
